Library Cards

General

Patrons must have a valid library card in order to borrow items from the library and access on-line resources. For residents of Shelburne, Amaranth, Melancthon, Mono and Mulmur there is no charge to obtain a card. For others, there is a non-resident annual fee of $100 per household.

To obtain a library card, please visit us in person with valid documentation stating your name and current address (e.g. Driver's License, utility bill, etc.). Children under the age of 16 may have their own card, but a parent or guardian must sign to accept responsibility on the child's behalf.

Library cards are non-transferable and the use of the card is the responsibility of the person to whom the card is issued. The cards are renewed annually and providing that you have borrowed materials within the past year, you will retain the library card with the same number.
